Many critical arguments on abortion deal with individuals with a specific ethical viewpoint regarding an unborn child. Many individuals believe that life begins at conception and at the moment the egg is fertilized, the embryo is considered a child. These individuals have a difficult time condoning terminating a pregnancy, since they see the child as a living human being instead of a mass of cells. Individuals with ethical aversions to abortion may also have issues with the choice of terminating a pregnancy.
Many individuals feel, within certain parameters, that a woman’s choice is that of whether or not to be sexually active, not to decide to end an unwanted pregnancy that resulted from no or ineffective birth control measures. Instead of disposing of a developing fetus, a woman should take all necessary measures to prevent pregnancy in the first place.
Whatever the argument, all critical arguments on abortion should be listened to and thought about in depth. The point of posing arguments is to hear both sides of the story so that you can then make an educated decision on your stance for or against abortion as well as your choice to have or not to have an abortion.
