Home Pregnancy Test

Home Pregnancy Test - For When you Have to Know!

When you are trying to become pregnant, the one essential
thing you need to keep at home is a home pregnancy test!
These pregnancy test kits are available to buy over the
counter at drug stores, and even some grocery stores, so
they may seem to be accessible to you should you decide you
need one in the middle of the night, but for some reason,
circumstances can plot against you so it's better to be
prepared!

I learned the hard way about keeping a home pregnancy test
in the cupboard!  I had had a miscarriage 5 weeks earlier
and was still reeling from that.  My husband and I had
waited almost a year to become pregnant and losing that
much wanted baby was unthinkable.  An expert at my cycle
dates by this time, I didnât' think I could become pregnant
so soon after losing a baby, and thought the miscarriage
had changed my cycle.

My period was four days late when I started to wonder.  If
I'd of had a home pregnancy test in the house I'd of tested
that day.  By the time I was able to go out to buy one, I'd
convinced myself it was just one of those things and that
the period would start the next day.  I was afraid to hope
and more afraid to allow myself to hope and be wrong.

The following evening when my husband came home from work I
finally discussed the missing period with him.  He was
concerned that as I was still mourning the baby I'd
miscarried, I was going to be hurt again. However, having
seen that I had started to believe that it was at least a
possibility and that I didn't want not to know, we decided
to go and buy a home pregnancy test, at least we'd then
know one way or the other.

Finding this home pregnancy test proved not to be as easy a
task as we'd thought.  Not one outlet that was still open
had a pregnancy test kit.  It seemed as if the entire town
must have been testing because every late night opening
store in our area that stocked them was sold out.  There
was nothing to do but wait until the following morning.

It was a long night of anxious waiting, but finally morning
arrived and we were able to go out and buy the home
pregnancy test.   Nervously I did the test.  It was
positive and we were overjoyed.  The memory of the last
baby clouded our happiness and we hoped that this time that
pregnancy would stay.  It did.  The pregnancy wasn't
without its complications, but at the end of it, we had a
beautiful baby boy to join our family.

I learned my lesson.  When we began trying to conceive our
second child, I always kept a home pregnancy test in the
house.  I did use more than I should, patience doesn't come
easy when you're waiting to get pregnant, but at least I
wasn't left waiting for the stores to open again!
